Supporting you through life's challenging moments
Do you ever feel too overwhelmed to deal with your problems? If so, you're not alone.

I am a firm believer that self care is essential to emotional, psychological, social, and physical well-being, and feel strongly that seeking help in times of distress is a sign of strength, courage, and tenacity in the face of hardship.
Psychotherapy is an empirically supported form of support during times of crisis, change, or unhappy stagnation. Unlike speaking to friends or family, psychotherapy provides you a truly unbiased sounding board to help you address and navigate your concerns.

If you have decided you are at a place where you are ready to take the powerful step to reach out for help, please know that I am here to work with you. Together we will create a plan to help you move through this time of difficulty, to find peace in a time of chaos, and to reconnect with who you are and what is personally meaningful in your life.

"I have come to believe that self care is not self indulgent.
Self care is an act of survival."
Audrey Lorde

My Therapeutic Approach
I am a clinical psychologist who focuses helping people with common mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, work-life balance, and relationship issues. As a health psychologist, I also specifically work with the intersection of physical and mental health. At the start of life that means supporting mothers and fathers during pregnancy, post-partum, and in the early years of parenting. In moments of life characterized by illness and decline, I offer guidance to people who are impacted by physical health concerns or a loved one's illness, as well as in grief and bereavement.
Like many psychologists, I draw on a variety of therapeutic methods and customize my approach to your unique needs. Overall, my goal is to be warm, dynamic, and personal.
The psychological approaches which most strongly inform my work include: ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Narrative Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), and Existential Psychotherapy. When working with couples, I use the Gottman approach, a compassionate, fun, and dynamic approach grounded in extensive research. In supporting young parents, I am trained in the Adlerian Positive Parenting approach which is normalizing and empowering.

"The art of living lies less in eliminating our troubles than in growing with them."

Individual Psychotherapy
Therapy provides a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space for you to talk and be listened to. Talking about your feelings, emotions, and experiences can be healing, and therapy is a place to learn effective coping strategies for managing different situations.

Couples Therapy
Our most intimate relationships can be powerful sources of support, strength, and growth. Unfortunately, they can also be one of our most potent sources of pain and distress. If you are struggling in your relationship, please know that you don't have to do it alone. When working with a couple, my client is the "relationship," rather than either member of the couple. What this means is that I don't look for blame or who is right and who is wrong - I simply help you determine what works, and what doesn't. I know that couples therapy can be intimidating. I aim to make it approachable, manageable, and even a little fun!

Follow-up Support
The hours we spend together in psychotherapy are important, but what is more important is how you carry our work forward into your daily life. Please know that, even after a course of psychotherapy has been completed, you are always welcome to reach out for further support as needed.
CONTACT ME
I am based in Toronto and am licensed to work with adults and couples who reside in Ontario, Canada. Sessions currently occur virtually via secure video or telephone.
